Sheffield United have again been linked with an interest in two highly-regarded Championship defenders.

Darragh Lenihan of Blackburn Rovers and Joe Worrall of Nottingham Forest have long been linked as targets for Sheffield United, and a guide to the January transfer window by The Guardian suggests that the pair are still under consideration by Wilder and the Blades.

Worrall previously spent a year in Scotland on a one-year loan deal with Rangers, and has been in fantastic form during Nottingham Forest’s promotion push so far this season.

Blackburn Rovers are sat in mid-table, and Lenihan has been a mainstay in Tony Mowbray’s side so far this season.

Extra defensive cover would be ideal for the Blades, who have largely been using the same core group of players during the busy festive period.

That said, both second tier sides will be keen to keep hold of their prize asset.

Other recent reports from The Telegraph have linked Sheffield United with a move for Nice midfielder Adrien Tameze.

Aston Villa, Southampton and Burnley are also credited with an interest in the 25-year-old, who will reportedly be allowed to join an English team on a six-month loan deal until the end of the season.
