But, after a dramatic finish to the clash at Bramall Lane, there was only one thing on the minds of Unitedites as they celebrated the victory.

An intervention of VAR finally went in the Blades' favour, ruling out Robert Snodgrass' injury time equaliser to sent the Lane from silence into rapture.

@ryanhobson7: Best English manager in club football signs new 4.5 year deal. #twitterblades 5th in the league and pushing for a European spot. What a start to 2020. Sheffield is red.

@Jamesfletcher82: Not at our best today but practically took the only chance we created, excellent work by fleck to create it. About time #VAR went our way made it even sweater that it was him as well

@mdb1980sufc: Better in the second half but still not to the standards that we have been used to. Had a couple of chances to make the game safe but they also had chances. Overall deserved the win but made hard work of it.

@unitedite: At times we haven't had the luck or the results our performances have deserved. We got a bit of payback tonight. They penned and squeezed us so well first half, we needed pace as an outlet and Lys made a difference. Hendo kept us in it and a twist at the end

@vstox: As the VAR check flashed on the screen I thought back to the game against Wigan when the Tevez goal was announced. I thought, if there are football gods you owe us this one.. Wonderful moment for a vintage Blade

@LeaBoulby: Someone talk to me about @oli_mcburnie performance today btw. Take the goal away the man was class link up play and winning headers was exceptional. Ran back 50 yard to make a big tackle on edge of our box
