Jubilant Sheffield United fans have taken to Twitter to have their say on the news manager Chris Wilder has signed a new long-term contract.

Wilder has put pen to paper on a four-and-a-half year deal at Bramall Lane – much to the delight of Blades fans, who have described this evening’s announcement as the ‘best signing of the January transfer window’.

Writing on Twitter ahead of tonight’s game with West Ham, our United writer James Shield said: “Chris Wilder's new contract will hopefully provide the perfect pre-match filip for #sufc.”
