United, who face relegation rivals West Bromwich Albion at Bramall Lane tomorrow evening, fell 13 points away from safety over the weekend as Brighton beat Tottenham Hotspur to pull further clear of the bottom three.

"For us, the season isn't defined on going to Man United and Man City and we have to beat the teams around us, hopefully starting tomorrow.

"There has been a change in mood, going back to after the Southampton game we were rock bottom and we've come back from that very well.

"The result at Man U and the performance at City has brought us on, and we're going into the West Bromgame with a lot of confidence.

"We'll keep fighting. Regardless of whether we go down or stay up, we'll keep fighting. That's how the manager wants us and that's our personalities too. If we go down, we'll go down fighting.

"It's a strange old game and people can come up with weird and wonderful runs. I'm sure everyone else will be writing the bottom three off but we'll keep fighting and see what happens."

United will go within a point of second-bottom West Brom with victory over Sam Allardyce's side. The Baggies won the first game between the two sides this season 1-0, despite United having 21 shots at goal.
