'I’ve seen plastic spoons sharper than us' - Sheffield United fans have their say on 1-0 defeat to Manchester City

Former Blade Kyle Walker’s first half strike was enough to help secure the visitors all three points to leave his boyhood club second-from-bottom with just a point to their name.

City stopper Ederson didn’t have a single save to make throughout the game, with second half substitute John Lundstram having Chris Wilder’s side’s best effort when he blazed over on the 70th minute mark.

Here’s what a selection of Blades fans on Twitter thought of their side’s performance at the Lane this afternoon.

@tyronej1984 Having had it our own way for more or less four years, I’d forgotten how absolutely s**e losing is. #twitterblades #SUFC

@DaveCambell We just lost 1-0 to Man City... Man City!! We’ve been in the game throughout, their CDM gets MOM and to some we’re relegated already... some Blades suppose this was McBurnie’s fault too? Get a grip. In Wilder we trust #sufc #twitterblades

@Berkshireblade Remember when people wanted Berge in the middle? His ability to run with the ball is our key creative outlet right now! #sufc #twitterblades

@MatthewParkin1 At this level, and especially against the very best teams we know chances will be at a premium, so why the constant overplaying out wide when there’s golden chances to cross the ball in? Don’t cross, don’t shoot, don’t score. #twitterblades #sufc

@TomBlade1889 What frustrates me is that we knock the ball about deep in their half trying to get into good areas to maximise the quality of the chance but when we do our delivery is s***e anyway, so what's the point? We may as well launch it in the box from anywhere, ffs. #sufc #twitterblades

@HettyPullan I’m just so frustrated. There’s glimpses of good play, and then we screw it up with lazy passes or hesitancy. #twitterblades #sufc

@mynameisbrooke Frustrating watch but City could have easily been 3/4 0 up. Nowt happening up front yet again #sufc #twitterblades

@TravelingBlade I’ve seen plastic spoons sharper than us

@Garethhayden11 Playing too safe and the final ball is awful at the moment #sufc #twitterblades

@BenRadford10 It is what it is, we’ll be reyt #sufc #twitterblades

@Justy1Rice Man City or not Man City, playing all that passing football in the final third is ridiculous, can’t even have a go at the players again, God forbid you go against CW but where is Plan B? Plan A is brilliant but doesn’t work a lot at the min. Problems. #sufc #twitterblades

@KieranBatham Positives from that game again but we have got to start winning games and fast. Berge, we won’t have him for more than two years. The lad is absolutely class. We need a creative midfielder big time #sufc #twitterblades
