Chris Wilder says Jack Robinson and Jack Rodwell will not simply be handed appearances for Sheffield United this weekend in the FA Cup against Millwall.

Rodwell has made one appearance for the Blades since signing earlier this month – also in the FA Cup, against AFC Fylde – while Robinson is looking to make his United debut after putting pen to paper this week.

Wilder made 11 changes against Fylde in the third round but admitted: “There won’t be 11 this time. Maybe two or three. We're looking at a few who picked up knocks or need a breather.

“Those two [Rodwell and Robinson] are ready to go but it isn’t in my mind about ‘we have to give them minutes’. It might be the other way around – who do we have to pull out, rather than who do we put in.

“They have both worked hard on the training ground Monday to Friday, so they’re ready - but it’s not a charity. It’s not a case of ‘we have to give him a game to keep his head up’ or look at him.

“They’ll play if we need to change it around.”
