The midfielder accepted a short term contract at Bramall Lane earlier this season but has spent the second half of the campaign with Middlesbrough, after moving there on loan in January.

Speaking ahead of tomorrow’s Premier League fixture against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Wilder stated Morrison’s time in South Yorkshire is now over.

“Ravel has left the football club,” he said. “He’s at another club.

“I’m not interested in talking about him. That decision was made. He was here for the first half of the season and now he’s at another one.”

Wilder comments came in response to a query about Neil Warnock’s admission that he has held talks with Morrison about his future on Teesside after taking charge of Middlesbrough recently. Warnock, who spent eight years in charge of United before departing in 2007, handed the former Lazio and Manchester United midfielder a rare start during Middlesbrough’s Championship defeat by Queens Park Rangers last weekend, but withdrew him after an hour.

It was only Morrison’s seventh appearance of the season, with four of those coming for United.

“He has a big decision in his life to make, I think, in the next six months,” Warnock said. “Somebody with that ability shouldn’t be messing about from club to club, should he.”

Morrison was described by Sir Alex Ferguson as the most gifted youngster of his generation after progressing through Old Trafford’s youth system before a series of off-the-pitch issues began overshadowing his career. He joined United following a brief spell in Sweden with Ostersund, who became embroiled in a financial scandal towards the end of last year.

“I don’t think his ability is in question,” Warnock added. “I think Ravel has got to brush up on other parts, because it would be a waste if he couldn’t get a regular place somewhere and display his ability within a team structure, not just as an individual.

“If I can give him an opportunity I will do. But Ravel has got to do it himself hasn't he."
