'I love my club' - Chris Wilder responds to question about whether he fears for Sheffield United job after West Ham defeat

The Bramall Lane chief, who led his boyhood club into the Premier League with two promotions in three years after taking charge shortly after the Blades finished 11th in League One, was asked about his future following this afternoon's 1-0 home defeat to West Ham United.

Defeat to the Hammers, courtesy of £45m striker Sébastian Haller's second-half strike, was United's fourth defeat in a row.

But Wilder insisted: "I haven’t been sacked for 20 years, I don’t fear anything.

"I I love my club and it’s great when you ask those questions, how flippantly you guys talk about people’s careers and jobs.

"It [being sacked] has not really involved me for 20 years, even though there have been some down times through that time.

"The biggest thing is getting results for this football club in a hugely competitive division."
