Every member of Chris Wilder’s squad has donated a home jersey to ‘Shirts for Heroes’ venture, which is being described as the “largest signed shirt raffle in the history of football” by organisers #PlayersTogether and eBay.

#PlayersTogether was set-up by footballers from across the Premier League to show their support for health service and care professionals during the Covid-19 pandemic, which has so far claimed nearly 400,000 lives worldwide.

“As players, we have been determined as a group to help in any way we can,” a statement, issued on behalf of #PlayersTogether, said. “That’s why we established #PlayersTogether to raise much needed funds for front line carers through NHS Charities Together.

“This is a player led-initiative, working together collaboratively across all clubs and we are delighted to team up with eBay to offer our signed shirts in the ‘Shirts for Heroes’ campaign."

“We hope this is something all fans up and down the country can get involved in and help us raise money to make a difference for the real heroes of this crisis," it added.

A number of United players, including Enda Stevens, Ben Osborn, Kieron Freeman and Oli McBurnie have already made private donations towards the initiative, which was established in April.
