Emil Bohinen, son of former Nottingham Forest, Bolton Wanderers and Derby County midfielder Lars, is currently on the books at Norwegian side Stabæk but such is his potential, the Norway under 21 international is being coveted by English top-flight clubs.

Bohinen, who also plays in midfield, had been linked in the past to Brighton but United have been having a look at the 20-year-old this week and his dad revealed that ‘in the January window probably something will happen.’

As for the potential star himself, if nothing else he has been enjoying mixing with the Blades players and getting the opportunity to show what he is made of.

“I’m here to get to know the club,” Bohinen told Norwegian TV.

“They are very accommodating and I felt welcome very quickly. I’m just trying to be myself and to enjoy myself. The most important thing is to get to know the environment.

“For now, it’s just getting to know each other. We have a good dialogue.”

Bohinen has been impressed by what he has seen from United players, especially at close quarters.

“There is no doubt that there is a big, big difference,” he added.

“At Sheffield United, there are extremely smart footballers. They are one step ahead of us all the way.”

He added: “I think the most important thing is to get used to the surroundings and the culture, but it is a dream to play in the Premier League.”

Emil scored four goals in 28 games for his club as they finished eighth and has represented Norway from U17 to U21 level.

Lars added: “He has a good left foot, his passing range is good. He can also drive past people with the ball at his feet.

“Defensively he has improved a lot over the last 12 months, which has been maybe the most important part of his game to develop.

“His contract expires in a year. I think in the January window probably something will happen. It’s no disaster if it doesn’t happen, but he wants to move on.
