Is there any injury news? Who is in the teams?

Sheffield United will be without central defender John Egan, who will be serving a one-match suspension following his controversial sending off in the 1-0 defeat at Aston Villa on Monday evening.

Other than the Irishman’s absence, Wilder is expected to have a near-full strength squad to choose from as he pits his wits against the mercurial Bielsa.

Of course, he will once again be missing striker Lys Mousset who is out after having surgery on a ‘rare injury’ to a ligament under his toe he suffered in pre-season.

Wilder handed a start to summer signing Oli Burke at Villa Park, with the Scottish international striker doing no harm to his chances of being named in the starting XI for the clash with Leeds. Fellow new boy Ethan Ampadu could be in line for a start in the heart of defence having impressed as a first half substitute against Villa following Egan’s dismissal.

As for Leeds, they’ll make the short trip down the M1 full of confidence following their 4-3 win over Fulham at Elland Road on Saturday and a spirited showing in defeat at Liverpool on the opening day of the season.

On the injury front, Bielsa will be hoping to have Pablo Hernandez available.

The Spanish midfielder missed the game against the Cottagers after suffering a groin injury in the warm-up, although Leeds’ Argentinian boss stressed afterwards that he didn’t believe it to be a ‘very serious’ injury.

Jarred Gillett is the fourth official, while Mike Dean will be on VAR duty.
