Hide AdYoungster Alex Hunt missed the game at Craven Cottage through a knee injury picked up in training but the Wednesday manager said he was ‘hopeful’ he will be ‘back in contention’ for Sunday.
Elsewhere, Cameron Dawson will probably return in goal ahead of Joe Wildsmith – who Monk has used in cup games this season but opted for the former in the Championship.
As with last week against Watford following the Carabao Cup win at Rochdale, Wednesday’s more senior professionals will be back in the starting XI – and could be joined in the matchday squad by new forward Korede Adedoyin, whose paperwork hadn’t been ratified in time by the EFL for the Fulham game.
Aside from Hunt’s injury, Osaze Urhoghide is nearing a return to first team action as he steps up his comeback from a knee injury suffered last season while new recruit Chey Dunkley is also in the final stages of his rehabilitation after a double leg break playing for former club Preston North End in February.
