Is there any injury news? Who is in the teams?

United have reported no fresh injury concerns following their exit from the Carabao Cup at Burnley on Thursday evening.

Striker Lys Mousset will once again be missing from the matchday squad as he continues his recovery after undergoing an operation on a ‘rare injury’ to a ligament under his toe, which he damaged in United’s final pre-season game against Preston North End.

Wilder made 10 changes for the cup tie in East Lancashire which saw him blood his summer signings Ethan Ampadu, Wes Foderingham, Oli Burke, Jayden Bogle and Max Lowe – with all five, Lowe in particular, producing assured performances and have given the Blades boss ‘something to think about’ ahead of Monday’s game.

This will be Villa’s first Premier League game of the season, although they were in action in midweek when they defeated League One side Burton Albion 3-1 in the second round of the Carabao Cup.

Dean Smith is likely to give debuts to summer signings Emiliano Martinez, Matty Cash and Ollie Watkins, although at the time of writing Villa are still awaiting international clearance for latest recruit, the pacey forward Bertrand Traore, to play in the game.

Villa will be without Brazilian striker, Wesley, who is continuing his rehabilitation from an anterior cruciate ligament tear suffered on New Year’s Day and is not expected to return until early 2021

Who is the referee?

Graham Scott will referee the game, with Scott Ledger and Simon Long his assistants.
