In 35 blistering minutes Sheffield United striker Leon Clarke doubled his season's tally with a fantastic four-goal blitz of Hull City at Bramall Lane.
The Blades had harshly been a goal down through Kamil Grosicki but turned on the style after the break with Clarke equalising eight minutes after the restart before putting United in front 15 minutes from time.
The frontman completed his hat-trick on 80 minutes and then added the fourth eight minutes later.
"I thought all of the players were outstanding," said boss Chris Wilder. "We had a few words with them after Tuesday night because we were not where we set our standards and we had to get back on it.
"Leon was outstanding and he has been. His performance was first-class. We were up against some talented individuals, but we are attacking players and teams as a group and that is key for us if we want to continue our form and our results."
