Here's what the MOTD2 pundits said about Sheffield United's comeback win over Norwich City

United had been trailing at half time after a desperate first 45 minutes but came out firing thanks to, more than a quiet word from manager Chris Wilder, who appeared not to hold back in his assessment of how they’d played up to that point.

Enda Stevens’ header levelled matters almost immediately and then soon after, George Baldock fired in impressively for what turned out to be the winner.

It was United’s two wing backs who took the plaudits from one of the pundits, former Norwich striker Dion Dublin, who waxed lyrical about Stevens’ and Baldock’s second half impact.

“The way they played in the first half and the way they played in the second half is chalk and cheese,” said Dublin.

“I've never seen Baldock and Stevens so deep. In a five (man defence)? Sheffield United are never in a five. They've always at least got one full back pushing on.

“Second half, (Wilder) sends them out early, they’ve had a few words said to them and they completely changed.

“Baldock gets in the box, just in case something comes in, just gambling, being told what to do by the manager at half time. And then he's nearly getting on the end of something from McGoldrick.

“Again (for the first goal), Baldock's there, where's the other one? In the box. Stevens...goal. two full backs in the final third of the pitch being very very positive.”

For the second goal from Baldock, Dublin added: “Stevens does get a bit lucky, gets himself out of trouble. Baldock comes searching, how can I effect the game? Stevens makes his way into the box in case there's any bits. Baldock doesn’t need him.

“Look at the skill, look at the turn and look at the strike. That is just incredible. Full-backs we are talking about here.”

Then there was praise for the goalkeeper, who pulled off a stunning save late on to deny Norwich an equaliser.

“Chris Wilder has said to them at half time 'listen, we need to play better. And if we do and need a keeper late on, Henderson get us out of the mess.’

“When you play the way they do, so positive, sometimes concentration can go because you have so much of the ball and the keeper can switch off. Henderson kept them in the game.”

The other major talking point came from a Premier League first as Chris Basham was sent off for a strong challenge on Kenny McClean. VAR intervened and United were able to celebrate a rare gift from the men in Stockley Park who overturned the original decision.

Darren Fletcher, also in the MOTD2 studio, agreed with the final decision.

“I think VAR gets it right,” he said. “In live action it looks reckless and a red card. But when you see if from the other angle and slow it down, the right foot that comes in with the momentum and the wildness actually doesn;t make contact. He's very lucky it doesn’t make contact or it would have been a red card. And it's the first time we've seen it overturned.”
