He tops this season’s goalscoring chart at Sheffield United and caught the eye of England’s under-21 selectors last term.

But, according to his team-mate Neill Collins, the most impressive aspect of Harry Maguire’s recent performances has been his ability to overcome setbacks.

Not only has the boy done good but, Collins revealed, he has also grown up.

Maguire was the subject of intense scrutiny earlier this season after his error contributed to United’s defeat by Gillingham.

Since then, however, the 20-year-old has produced a series of impressive displays which make him an almost certain starter when Nigel Clough’s side visit Cambridge United in the FA Cup tomorrow.

“I remember in his first season that he made a mistake and we lost 1-0 and I had a word with him but certainly not after the Gillingham one,” Collins said. “He has done fantastically well and has come back from these mistakes in the past.”
