Former Sheffield United man Kyle Walker breaks silence on Man City saga
Kyle Walker on Man City saga: “It obviously doesn’t look great.”
The former Blade has said ‘they can’t take away’ what he won with Manchester City amid the ongoing legal case surrounding the ‘sham’ club.

Walker, who made his professional debut for the Blades at 18 in 2008, has said his piece on the unprecedented position that his former side City find themselves in.
“Obviously it doesn’t look great. I know it’s in an appeal stage, so, for me to start commenting on the legal action and everything like that, probably it’s not going to do myself justice or anyone involved in it,” Walker told TalkSPORT.
“But, at a personal level,” he continues, “I can say the lads, we spent many and many great years celebrating many trophies and everything like that and that’s something that, whatever happens, they can’t take away from us because we’ve experienced them nights.
“So, whatever will be, will be, and it’s just down to the appeal now and what goes from there.”
The former England international won six Premier League titles with Manchester City, as well as four Carabao Cups, two FA Cups, two Community Shields, and one Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.
With 17 major honours, Walker is the most decorated player to ever come from Sheffield.
There is a possibility that United could claim compensation from Manchester City, with the club keeping tabs on the matter as City’s appeal unfolds.
Sheffield United Chief Executive Stephen Bettis told The Star’s Danny Hall: “ I certainly think there’ll be a few people picking up the phone to me saying that we should all collectively get together and look at this and see whether there’s a case to be answered.”
Bettis admitted that it is a long way down the line yet, but he’s ‘monitoring’ the situation and ‘keeping an ear to the ground’.
"I think it’s huge for football in the UK," Bettis added, "when you start looking at the knock-on effects of them being found guilty and the impact that has on the Premier League and the people that have been in it.
The Blades lost to Man City in the 2023 FA Cup Semi-Final, which Pep Guardiola’s side went on to win, ending an emphatic cup run for the United.
