Ravel Morrison, the former Manchester United wonderkid, posted a classy thankyou message to Sheffield United after joining Middlesbrough on loan yesterday.

The 26-year-old made just a handful of appearances for United in the first half of the season and was allowed to join Jonathan Woodgate’s Boro on deadline day.

The last of those games came in the FA Cup last month, when Chris Wilder’s side beat AFC Fylde in the third round.

Morrison signed a one-year deal at United in the summer, although the Blades do have an option to extend it.

And Morrison posted on Twitter after joining Boro: “Thank you for the trust you put in me and ignored all the negativity. Will forever be thankful.

Good luck for the rest of the season… Sheff U is a team on the up!

“We’re all blades ain’t we… God bless.”

Morrison revealed, after putting pen to paper at Boro, that he had offers to move overseas again after spells in Italy, Mexico and Sweden.

"I was close to going abroad again, and my agent rang me up and said that Middlesbrough were interested," he said.

"As soon as he said Middlesbrough were interested, I told him to cut everything else out and I wanted to get going.

"I just want to get playing and get a run of games.

"If you put a run of games together now, there's no reason why we can't go for promotion or get around there."
