Former Leeds United man Andrew Hughes thanks Sheffield United after leaving post of U23s coach

Andrew Hughes, the former Reading and Leeds United player, has left his position as Sheffield United U23 lead coach - less than a year after being appointed.

"I’d like to thank everyone [at United] from the top class manager, first team coaches and staff, academy coaches and players, all the way down to the U9 coach and staff at Shirecliffe, for my time," Hughes said.

"I wish the club well for the future."

Hughes was appointed last August, with academy boss Jack Lester "delighted to have secured this appointment."

"Andrew will bring a load of positivity and energy to the academy," Lester added at the time, "and is a highly skilled and experienced coach."
