Familiar faces and new foes in Sheffield United confirmed pre-season line-up as warm-weather camp plans specified

Sheffield United will kick off their pre-season campaign with a return to former territory for manager Chris Wilder. The Blades last week confirmed a friendly trip to Bochum in Germany, and have today revealed the rest of their warm-up schedule.

The Blades will play four local friendly games around a trip to Spain which will not feature a game. Their preparations will then finish with the trip to face Uwe Rosler’s Bochum on August 1.

United’s campaign kicks off on July 4 at FC Halifax Town, with a return to The Shay for former Halifax boss Wilder. That game kicks off at 3pm.

The Blades then once again face Chesterfield a week later on July 11, again kicking off at 3pm. United will then have a behind-closed-doors friendly against Huddersfield Town on July 21, beginning at 12noon.

United then round off their domestic friendly schedule with a traditional trip to their South Yorkshire neighbours Rotherham United, who were relegated to League Two last season. That game takes place at the New York Stadium on Saturday, July 25, again at 3pm.

United have confirmed that plans are in place to stream all the friendlies live, with details and ticket information for each game to be confirmed “in due course.”
