United fans are delighted that the long-running saga has reached its conclusion - but how do fans of the selling club feel about Brewster swapping Merseyside for South Yokshire?

Here's a selection of Liverpool fan tweets on the deal, with many focusing on the reported buy-back clause that will be inserted into the deal allowing The Reds to sign Brewster in the future...

@amhoward01: Liverpool fan and disappointed to see Brewster go but understand why. But, buy-back clauses should be illegal. It's a form of ongoing influence over a player at another club and it undermines the sport's integrity.

@Kamara2R: Sorry to see him go but I’ll be happy for him because he’s going to develop further as a player if he gets regular game time. Honestly he’s done the right thing by leaving as it’ll make him an even better player. My best wishes to him

@MrBoywunder: Buying him back once Firmino starts to decline. Basically £23.5m for a 3-year loan, Mr Edwards has done it again

@YNWAitsaid: Chris Wilder is very high on him and he will be at Sheffield for years to come. If the manager is on your side from the get-go it makes it a lot easier

@LFCZA: Thiago in and Brewster out. It's about augmenting the squad to meet immediate to medium-term needs. That deal is a virtual zero net spend. If we sell more we can start covering the Jota deal as well.

@jimmymoutray: Only young but not convinced he has the natural footballing brain to play the way forwards are asked to play these days... will get goals for sure when most of the action is through him/to him so good deal all round.

@AhijahB: Very disappointed in this, of course it was inevitable but still sad to see him go, forget the buyback option his not coming back and I can't blame him. Wish him well, one of our most successful loans and he never got a chance to play

@workingklassred: It’s shame to see him go, but as a striker you need game time consistently and most Premier League clubs don’t want a young striker on loan but this options suits all parties and if he becomes the striker we know he can be Sheffield will win regardless

@liverheart: It's unfortunate but the lad deserves the opportunity to play regular football, great business by the Reds, let's hope he does very well, except against us of course.

@arun7989: It’s a very good deal for a talented young player who was blocked. Hopefully he now can embed himself in Wilder’s system and become a reliable EPL level striker.

@KurgenJloppo: Quite excited to see the lad in the Premier League. This loan will do good to him when he comes back in three years time. What a move

@mattdiy: Excellent business for a non proven PL player. Plus the buy back clause.. impressive from LFC once again

@Dhamnait: Good luck to him, he’s a player I rate very highly. Hopefully one day we will see him back in a Liverpool shirt again.

@MximYesess: And he moves to a club where he's in the Premier League. So it's up to him now to show what he's about.

@JohnCal68: I love the lad but this is a good deal especially in these uncertain times.

@justfranklin: No reason for young players to sign for LFC. Get loaned, promised this that and the other, then flogged.

@leathemsaan1892: He has no real path to the first team anytime soon and he has too much to offer to be playing youth football still so good business all round. should get plenty of goals as he is a very good finisher but his value was only going to decrease from him not being involved

@Euge4780: Good deal. And he'll be welcomed back. Needs to get first team experience. Minamino, Mane, Salah, Firmino, Jota, Shaqiri, Jones etc. would be hard for him to get a game these days. Shame to see him go but would be delighted if he ever came back. Good deal all round.
