But what about Sheffield United?
Who are the best players from overseas to have graced the hallowed turf of Bramall Lane?
Here’s what a selection of Blades fans on Twitter and Facebook have told us.
1. Traianos Dellas, Greece
The defender had a couple of years at the Lane - making 56 appearances for United and scoring twice - but is best remembered for winning the 2004 European Championships with Greece. 2. Paul Peschisolido, Canada
Pesch will always have a special place in the hearts of United fans for his goal in the thrilling Championship play-off semi final win over Nottingham Forest at Bramall Lane in May 2003 - although his frantic, topless celebration moments after is equally memorable! 3. Jan Åge Fjørtoft, Norway
The former striker was a fans' favourite at Bramall Lane and formed a superb partnership with Brian Deane, before both players were sold on the same day - which Blades supporters have coined 'Black Thursday' in the years since. Fjørtoft scored 23 goals in just 36 starts in his spell at United in 1997/98. Now a TV pundit, the Norwegian was due to return to Bramall Lane to cover the FA Cup quarter-final against Arsenal in March before the Covid-19 pandemic caused the postponement of the 2019/20 season for three months. 4. John Egan, Republic of Ireland
Egan has become a firm favourite with the United faithful after joining the club from Brentford in the summer of 2018. The Irish defender has since gone onto be a key member of Chris Wilder's closely-knit outfit, helping the Blades win promotion from the Championship before challenging for a place in Europe and reaching the quarter-finals of the FA Cup last term. He signed a new contract last month, tying him to the club until 2024. Photo: Laurence Griffiths
