Wilder on nine absentees and if any of them will be back soon
I'd like to think so but we'll keep assessing them, there's some long-term ones in there and I won't disclose too much about that. To lose nine players at any level isn't going to give us the best opportunity to get a result, especially at this level. You're looking around scratching see what you can do off the bench and one of the bright spots is Antoine getting off the bench, he can be proud of his debut at 16 but not filling the bench is going to hurt us and it did. George didn't train on Thursday and I made the decision for Jayden to play. Some players have done OK and I thought it was the right time to play Jayden, George has had a tough season as we all have and I believe Jayden was ready to play.
Wilder on Eze’s goal
It was naive from us, 1-0 down wouldn't have been the worst result for us at half time. We had plenty of the ball and created some half chances, knowing they have some great players at the top of the pitch who could hurt us. We should do so much better with the second goal, we didn't attempt to make contact or get bodies around him.
It's a fabulous finish but then I'm looking at the fourth official counting down to half time, he said 'that's it' four or five times. He was never, ever going to blow his whistle when the boy picked it up. They never do. I'm clutching a little bit, but our naivety and poor play in not stopping that goal gave us a mountain to climb.
Chris Wilder’s post-match reaction
We're obviously disappointed with the stats we're being reminded of, and disappointed yet again. It's a harsh league when you're off the pace as we have been for a long time, so it's tough. There's no hiding place for me and the players. We had nine missing players which would have hurt us even in League One, where we were four and a half years ago. Both penalty boxes have decided the game and we weren't good enough in either.

And that’s that. Barely a shot on goal for United, two poor goals given away, a lacklustre performance and another defeat.
