Confirmed: When Sheffield United will face Arsenal in the FA Cup

After the return of Premier League football was confirmed yesterday, Sheffield United have now found out when they will take on Arsenal in this year’s FA Cup quarterfinals.

The Blades are facing the Gunners for a spot in the semis of this year’s competition, with the original game scheduled for March 4th, but it will now be taking place at the end of June.

A statement as published on the club’s official website today read, “The Football Association has agreed a provisional restart date for the 2019/20 Emirates FA Cup.

Following the announcement that the 2019/20 Premier League season will provisionally restart on 17th June, The Emirates FA Cup Quarter Finals will now take place over the weekend of 27th-28th June.

“The Semi Finals and Final will take place over the weekend of 11th-12th July and 1st August respectively.

“Further information on venues and timings will be announced in due course.”

Meanwhile, the FA’s Chief Executive Officer, Mark Bullingham, is quoted as saying, "We are pleased to agree the provisional restart date for the 2019/20 Emirates FA Cup. The competition has been an integral part of the English football calendar for nearly 150 years, and we'd like to thank the Premier League Executive and Clubs for their support in scheduling the remaining matches during this unprecedented time.
