Confirmed: Sheffield United team to face Man Utd - Phil Jagielka replaces John Egan in defence and Billy Sharp keeps his place

The front pairing has changed again, this time David McGoldrick comes back into the side and skipper Billy Sharp keeps his place in the team.

Chris Wilder had stated yesterday that he could have been without as many as nine players for the match and one of those we already knew of, as it was enforced.

The Blades are without John Egan through suspension after his yellow card against Tottenham in United’s previous Premier League game.

The Irishman been replaced at the back by veteran Phil Jagielka who plays alongside Chris Basham and Ethan Ampadu.

It’s Jagielka’s first start since the 3-0 defeat to Southampton in mid-December.

Aaron Ramsdale is in goal, as usual.

George Baldock comes back into the team at right wing-back after missing a few games through injury and then due to the form of Jayden Bogle, however Enda Stevens misses out and is replaced by Kean Bryan at left wing-back.

The midfield remains the same with Oli Norwood keeping hs place after recovering from a poor performance against Tottenham to step up into much better form in the FA Cup on Saturday.

Norwood lines out alongside John Fleck and John Lundstram.
