SHEFFIELD United manager Danny Wilson has likened the return of Neill Collins and Kevin McDonald to “signing two new players”.
Collins, whose commanding displays at centre-half have helped United keep 15 clean sheets this season and McDonald, rated by some as the most technically gifted midfielder in League One competition, are both set to make their latest appearances following lengthy absences when Chesterfield visit Bramall Lane tomorrow.
United will move back into the automatic promotion positions if they avoid defeat against John Sheridan’s side and Wilson said: “We’re getting some important players coming back into the team now and that’s great.
“It’s like getting a couple of new faces in on permanent deals and it could not have happened at a better time.”
Collins missed four games due to a personal matter before returning to action against earlier this month while McDonald confirmed his recovery from the hamstring injury sustained against Preston North End five weeks ago with an assured display during the recent 5-2 victory over Notts County.
Andy Taylor, the former Blackburn Rovers full-back, is fit again following a long-term knee problem.
