The Blades enter the game as favourites due to their lofty position in the Premier League.

But Wilder knows the Championship Royals will pose a threat - and insists his players have given this game their full attention despite the fact United are also chasing European qualification.

"We haven't done anything on Norwich yet," said Wilder, whose side face the Canaries this weekend.

"Everything has been regarding Reading. This is a dangerous game.

"I don't like my team being underprepared and having poor attitude. If the players want to play at the back end of the season, then this is another great chance to cement their position.

"If we get beat and they have a great day, technically or tactically, that can happen. But mentality-wise, and physically, we have to show up. If it’s their night it’s their night, it happens in cup competitions, but we’re positive and I know what I’m getting from my side."

Mark Bowen's side are 16th in the Championship table and beat Barnsley 2-0 on Saturday.

"Mark’s got some talented individuals and the Championship is a tough league," Wilder added.

"We know how difficult it is from our two years in there. They'll fancy their chances of giving it a right go and getting into the quarter-finals… it's a great chance for them as well as us."
