Callum Robinson remails very much in Chris Wilder's thoughts for Sheffield United's future despite joining West Bromwich Albion on loan this week.

The striker, who arrived at United in the summer from Preston, will spend the rest of the season at The Hawthorns as Slaven Bilic's men look to get over the line in the race for promotion from the Championship.

But Robinson, who made 16 Premier League appearances for the Blades this season, remains part of Wilder's plans for the long term at Bramall Lane.

"Callum's a young player we identified over a number of years and he got off to a great start," Wilder said.

"He is going to be a player here for a number of years and we thought it was in his best interests to get him some regular football.

"A number of clubs were interested in him and he's still in his first year of Premier League football. The form of the other strikers here has pushed him down the pecking order a bit from the start of the season, so the decision was made.

"We can't just look at the obvious thing right in front of us... we have to look at what's best for the player at the moment.

"It's a really good move to a fantastic club under a great manager. Hopefully he develops there and we feel the benefits of that in the future."
