Chris Basham reveals uncertainty over playing behind closed doors when Sheffield United's Premier League season resumes

Defender Chris Basham insists he is unsure whether the prospect of playing behind-closed-doors will help or hinder Sheffield United when the Premier League eventually restarts.

Basham and Co. are facing the prospect of playing in front of empty stadia for the foreseeable future because of the coronavirus outbreak, which caused the suspension of the Premier League back in March.

And Basham, speaking to GF International Solutions, said that lockdown is "upsetting so many people, who don't have sport and aren't doing what they are used to doing.

"I'm sitting here twiddling my thumbs. It's great to see the family but a lot of the lads haven't got young families, and that's when it can go deeper inside your mind, what's going on.

"The next boundary will be not playing in front of fans. Will it be a positive or a negative? We'll be able to hear the manager's voice across the other side of the pitch!

"It'll be difficult and we've got to get that into our heads. We're in a game but could be in a training session. Hopefully, it goes well."
