Chris Basham reveals Sheffield United's players' stance on helping out lower-league clubs financially amid coronavirus crisis
With all football in England and Wales postponed, in an attempt to limit the spread of the Covid-19 virus, many clubs lower down the football pyramid are expected to struggle financially due to an absence of gate receipts.

Hide AdCalls for high-earning Premier League players to help out have gathered pace in recent days and although Basham and Co. are amongst the lowest-paid players in the top-flight, the defender suggested they would be open to helping out.
"We've not spoken about that yet," Basham admitted. "I know Enda Stevens made a great gesture recently [helping raise €25,000 for League of Ireland players affected] and at the minute, we're just keeping our heads down. But if needed, I'm sure the boys would be happy to help out."
Asked what form that support may take, Basham added: "I think it'd have to be a club gesture to help others out so if the club came to us with ideas, I'm sure we'd consider them. We've worked so hard to get to the Premier League but I'm sure if clubs around Sheffield needed help... although I'm just a footballer for Sheffield United and it'd be the decision of someone higher up, to decide that."
