Chris Basham claims memorable 'double' at Sheffield United's player of the year awards ceremony

Chris Basham has capped a memorable season back in the Premier League by winning both the Sheffield United players' player and supporters' player of the year.

The defender’s double was announced at a virtual player of the season ceremony tonight, where Enda Stevens also picked up the goal of the season award for his stunning volley at home to Brighton and Hove Albion.

Dean Henderson, on loan at United from Manchester United, won the young player of the year award once again.

"Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the popular end of season awards dinner, which usually takes place in a sold-out Platinum Suite, has had to be replaced with a pre-recorded video stream," a United statement said.

United finished ninth in their first season back in the Premier League, despite widespread pre-season predictions from a number of pundits that they would be instantly relegated back to the Championship.
