The Sun have reported that Baggies chief Slaven Bilić has identified Robinson as a pacy striking option his side need to get over the line in the race for promotion to the Premier League.

The Baggies are top of the table, but haven’t won in their last five games.

Robinson has struggled to stake a claim for consistent game time since his summer move from Preston North End, although he did start United’s FA Cup tie at Millwall on Saturday.

Before that game, all but two of the centre-forward’s last eight appearances for Chris Wilder’s side came from the bench – including a cameo at Arsenal, which saw him play a part in United’s equaliser in a 1-1 draw.

“It was nice at Arsenal to get more than 10 or 15 minutes. I enjoyed that and at the back end of the game I was right in the mix of it,” he said.

“The staff always make sure you’re included, though, and you don’t feel left out if you’re not playing as much as you want to. We all know we’ve got a job to do to get over the line, if that means being a sub or a starter, that’s what we do.

“You have to enjoy being a footballer. You could be stacking shelves at Sainsbury’s! I enjoy it. We’re picking up results and that puts a smile on everyone’s face.”
