LIVE: Cardiff City v Sheffield United
HALF TIME
and the Blades go in a goal behind despite arguably enjoying the better of the chances in the game - Sharp could have had a brace early on as he was denied twice by Smithies and Bogle could have had one as well, but it’s City who lead thanks to Harris’s opener and Foderingham has made a couple of good stops too.
Half-time player ratings
Foderingham 7
Bogle 6.5
Basham 6
Egan 6
Davies 5.5
Stevens 6
Norwood 6
Hourihane 6
Gibbs-White 6.5
Sharp 5
McGoldrick 6.5
Bogle somehow doesn’t score
as McGoldrick’s shot is deflected into his path, he takes a touch and Nelson gets across to block his shot away for a corner in first-half injury time - it’s headed away and that’s half-time
Blades almost carve City open
but Gibbs-White’s pass is too heavy for Bogle to race onto and the chance goes begging
Booking for Norwood
as Davies takes the ball away from him quickly and the Bladesman brings him down, nothing more despite the roar from the crowd
Foderingham saves
as Isaac Davies drives down the right and cuts inside, he shoots but Foderingham is equal to that one, could have been 2-0 to the hosts there
Goal Cardiff
and Harris gives the home side the lead after United failed to deal with a free-kick, it was flicked up over the United defenders and Harris had the time to take it down and pick his spot inside the area - poor from United’s point of view and they trail in Cardiff
What a save
from Foderingham as a City head flicks a corner goalwards, it takes one and maybe two deflections on the way across but Foderingham managed to keep it out - it looked a stunner on first viewing
