Callum Robinson, the Sheffield United forward, spoke of his delight after opening his account for West Bromwich Albion following his January loan move to the Hawthorns.

Robinson joined the Championship promotion-chasers to get regular game time, and netted his first goal for Slaven Bilic’s men in Saturday’s 2-2 draw at home to Nottingham Forest.

And the former Preston striker, who will hope to catch the eye of Republic of Ireland boss Mick McCarthy ahead of his country’s Euro 2020 play-off this summer, told West Brom’s official website: “It was really nice to get a goal and help the team get a result.

“We are obviously frustrated to lose a goal so late on but on a personal note I was pleased to score my first goal for the club.

“Hopefully, a few more can follow now alongside the performances I have been putting in for the team.”
