Breaking: Sheffield United season ticket prices revealed

Sheffield United have announced a freeze on season ticket prices for supporters who renew their seats before it is confirmed which division Chris Wilder's side are playing in next term.

The scheme means fans could find themselves watching Championship football for as little as £12.52 per game. Junior prices will continue to start at £1.54 after Bramall Lane’s hierarchy imposed a 10 per cent cut ahead of the present campaign.

United moved six points clear at the top of the League One table, 10 ahead of Fleetwood Town in third, after beating Charlton Athletic last weekend and co-owner Kevin McCabe said: “This is about forging the relationship with our fans. The campaign provides the opportunity for our remarkable fans - who have really supported us this season in big numbers at Bramall Lane - to be rewarded for their loyalty and backing.”

HRH Prince Abdullah bin Mosa’ad, McCabe’s fellow co-owner, echoed those sentiments, saying: “Our fans are an essential part of and reason for the success we have enjoyed this year at Bramall Lane. We want our ticket pricing programmes to reflect this partnership and I am confident we have achieved this goal with the new campaign.”

Returning supporters, who have previously held season tickets prior to 2016/17, and new holders can sign up to the ‘Forged in Faith’ initiative from £315 and £328.50 respectively before the discounted offer is withdrawn when United’s divisional status is finalised. Concessions for over-60’s, young adults, students and under-18’s are available.

Adults purchasing online can take advantage of a £5 discount and a direct debit facility, which allows them to spread the cost of a season ticket over a period of up to nine months, has been retained.

The season ticket package also includes ‘family friendly’ offers in the John Street Family Enclosure (not available online or in conjunction with other offers), 2,700 loyalty points and a 10 per cent discount in the Blades Superstore.

A statement, issued by the club this morning, said: “Fans are asked to note that the phase one of the season ticket offer will be withdrawn once United’s playing division for 2017/18 is established.”

“Once the club’s divisional status for 2017/18 is confirmed further initiatives, which could see prices increase, will be announced so fans are encouraged to renew or purchase their season tickets early,” it continued.

United have also confirmed that supporters will now be able to purchase season tickets in the Westfield Health Upper Corner stand next term.
