The centre-forward becomes the third member of Chris Wilder’s squad to commit his future to Bramall Lane this week, after captain Billy Sharp and midfielder Oliver Norwood also signed fresh deals.

McGoldrick, aged 32, has made nearly 70 appearances for United since arriving in South Yorkshire two years ago.

United return to action at Aston Villa on Wednesday.
