The deal, which will see Callum Robinson join West Bromwich Albion in exchange, continues the flurry of activity at Bramall Lane this week after Derby County duo Max Lowe and Jayden Bogle were also unveiled earlier tonight.

The Star understands Burke was granted permission to finalise his move to South Yorkshire by Scotland manager Steve Clarke, after spending the weekend on Nations League duty.

Ampadu, one of the most exciting young defenders in British football, has joined Bogle and Lowe at United ahead of Monday’s game against Wolverhampton Wanderers; their first match of the new Premier League season.

Burke, aged 23, started his career with Nottingham Forest before completing a £13m move to RB Leipzig. He returned to England when West Brom, who recruited Robinson on loan last term, spent around £13m to acquire his services - before completing spells with Celtic and Alaves.

Ampadu, who is set to spend the forthcoming campaign on loan with United, has also represented Leipzig. Capped 15 times by Wales, he is capable of operating either at centre-half or in midfield.

The 19-year-old is highly regarded by Frank Lampard and his coaching staff at Stamford Bridge, meaning United should view his capture as something of a coup.

"Etan us an outstanding young player and we have worked really hard to get hum,” Wilder said.

Robinson arrived from Preston North End last summer, but moved to The Hawthorns in January after failing to win a regular place in Wilder’s starting eleven. He helped Slaven Bilic’s side gain promotion to the top-fight last month.

Bogle and Lowe both put pen to paper on four year deals after completing their United medicals on Sunday.

“The Championship has been a great recruitment area for us and I wanted to bring some young players in who will provide competition for places,” Wilder added. “Both are modern day wing-backs.”
