With two games remaining and still an outside chance of making the play-offs, there is still time for this to be a memorable season for Sheffield United.

Chris Wilder’s men have certainly adapted well to life in the Championship after winning the League One title last season - but who has been their player of the year?

It’s not as straightforward a question as you may think - each Blades fan seems to have their own favourite - but we’ve compiled a shortlist of eight names, which we’ll put to the vote later in the week.

Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at Birmingham City left United still three points behind Millwall with two games to play, but with four teams between them and the sixth-placed Lions.

To stand any chance of gatecrashing the top six, United must beat two rivals in Preston and Bristol City and hope other results go their way. Alex Neil’s Preston visit Bramall Lane this weekend, and United travel to Ashton Gate on the final day of the season.
