McGoldrick headed United in front in their FA Cup tie at Reading on Tuesday, before an extra-time winner from Sharp sealed United's quarter-final place after George Pușcaș had equalised from the penalty spot.
The striker netted in the second minute of his comeback game following injury, and Sharp said: “It was a great goal, a great ball from Ozzy [Ben Osborn] and he headed it down well and looked like a man in form.

McGoldrick was denied a first Premier League goal away at Spurs, when VAR ruled John Lundstram offside, and is yet to find the net in the top flight.
"He should have had more goals this season but he's not missed on purpose and he's not hidden away from it," Sharp added.
"He's tried to get into the right areas to get on the end of things.

“It's great he scored because he now knows the pressure's off. He can go out there and just concentrate and enjoy himself.”
