And their team are leaving Blades dumbstruck by their performances and results.

Brighton were the latest to fall to United’s storm up the top flight and supporters still can’t quite believe it.

@CW_is_a_Legend posted: “Running out of words to describe my club, what Wilder and his backroom team have done! What a time to be a blade! This team is going to be the best ever surely?? Never in a million years did I expect this in the premier league! It’s been like a 3 n 1/2 year dream.”

@cheetham_james left a message for Santa: “3 wins in a row, undefeated away from home, 5th in the league. I don't want anything else for Christmas thanks”

And @pollard2211 has been on the pop and wondering if it's having an effect on his senses: “Not sure what I was drinking last night but I’m looking at the table and we’re 5th? Might get in touch with the brewery and warn them of the hallucinations I’m getting.”

@lincsblade added: “Meanwhile, back firmly on planet earth. What a team we have here. 17 unbeaten away from home. 5th in league. Chris Wilder is the biggest miracle worker since Jesus”

Meanwhile there were more words of encouragement for David McGoldrick who missed a couple of chances and is still waiting on his first Premier League goal.

@Blades_Mad said: “A sensational display from Didzy, miss aside. We all recognise he should have scored, but this man week after week is producing performances I wasn't sure he'd be capable of at this level. He's bossing games in the Premier League for christ's sake!”

@webding added: “Talk about Didzy missing sitters all you like. His all round play is a big reason why he will be missing them in Europe next year.”
