Barnsley v Blades LIVE
Half time
and it’s all square at the break after Sander Berge cancelled out Saviour Godwin’s opener for the hosts - both sides have had decent chances to go ahead and Adam Davies made a superb save to prevent Godwin making it 2-1 to the home side before the break. Expect 10 changes for the Blades at the break after Gomis earlier replaced the injured Norrington-Davies but it’s been a useful run out for the Blades so far in searing heat
Superb save
from Adam Davies as Casa get in behind on the right, it’s squared across goal and Godwin looks for his second but Davies gets across and claws it to safety - a remarkable effort to be fair
Berge lets fly from distance
after the space opened up in front of him, he drove forward with it and assessed his options before having a go from a long way out and it goes over the home side’s crossbar
Off the post
as Brewster takes a snapshot after linking up nicely with Ndiaye, it was a low effort that beat the ‘keeper but not the woodwork and it remains 1-1
GOAL BLADES
and it’s Berge who gets it, poking home from close range after the ball fell in his path - it came from another set-piece, Brewster had a poke at the ball which was deflected to Berge and while Casa appealed for offside, the Norwegian calmly placed it home for 1-1
Brewster heads over the bar
after another corner from the Blades right causes havoc, he gets a head to it but can’t get it on target and that’s the drinks break - United still trail 1-0 but have had a few chances to get back into it, with Egan forcing a save from the Casa goalkeeper from a corner and a few other half-chances also going begging
Early Blades change
as Norrington-Davies goes down again and is clearly feeling the after-effects of that earlier challenge with Godwin, his race is now run and he gingerly makes way for Gomis who will slot in at left centre-half in his place
Norrington-Davies is
back on his feet after some attention from the physio, as is Godwin, and both will hopefully be okay to continue - as the corner comes in and reaches Fernandes at the back post, but his shot goes over the bar
Break in play
as goalscorer Godwin and Norrington-Davies take a moment for a bit of treatment - they had an almighty running battle down the wing as they looked to keep pace with each other, the Blades defender blocked the cross behind for a corner and both have stayed down for some treatment from their respective physios
