'Bang on', 'Why does McBurnie want to play for Scotland?' - Sheffield United fans react to 2-0 pre-season victory over Derby County

Sheffield United continued their good pre-season form at Derby tonight after running out 2-0 winners, despite missing a host of first-team players away on international duty.

Ben Osborn and Billy Sharp scored United's goals at Pride Park, while Wes Foderingham kept a clean sheet on his first appearance for the Blades.

And United fans were pleased with the workout.

@ShorehamStats: Still in need of at least 4 players (RWB, LWB, RCM and a striker) hope we can get them in before the start of the season but won’t panic if not.

@original18892: Very impressed with how much fitter we were than Derby. Great workout and some good, solid performances. Norwood was MoM for me.

@designedbyross: Don’t get the gripe about McBurnie being on our bench having dropped out of Scotland squad, he just played his first 45mins for us of “pre-season” - Scottish fans don’t like him when he’s fully fit never mind throwing him in if he’s not up to scratch

@Blades_Mad: Post match thoughts | A decent run out for the lads, and good to get some minutes into those not away on international duty. Neat goal from Osborn. Trademark Sharp finish. Ollie Norwood running the game. Crosses and pings on point Lovely to see!

@ijparkes: It’s hard to take a lot from a friendly but I thought our intensity and pressing was bang on. A few good individual performances too. It looked a decent run out all in all

@tmnwtn: Good watch, that. Thought Bryan and Osborn were both good, and any opportunity to watch Norwood spray the ball around is a privilege. Oh, and it’s September 2020 and Billy Sharp still scores goals. Who’d have thought?

@KieranBatham: Not that it’s a surprise cos he’s one of our best players but love how effortless Norwood makes his passes look, impressed with how he’s broke play up Aswell to pressing slightly higher up the pitch

@parkerraces: The online abuse he gets, I don’t understand why McBurnie would want to play for #SCO - what he should do is just make it public and move on. Don’t get the hate, last 6 months, he’s probably one of the most improved players in our team! Defo since restart...
