Sheffield United continue their quest for their first win of the new Championship season this evening when they travel to West Bromwich Albion.

Both sides were relegated from the Premier League last season but while United are yet to score in their two Championship games this time around, the Baggies are unbeaten on four points.

Baggies v Blades

and Mowatt gets it, finishing comfortably past Verrips after being slipped on by Grant. Not even close to an hour on the clock here and the Blades are staring down the barrel of an embarassing defeat against a team supposed to be one of their promotion rivals this season. The Blades have looked so far off that level it’s untrue

Basham relieves a bit of pressure

by winning the ball and buying the free-kick, but United play themselves back into trouble again immediately after - West Brom are all over them at the minute and they need to somehow get hold of the ball for a bit to calm themselves down

and it’s another horror moment for Verrips as he comes to claim the corner, tries to take it with one hand and drops it, drops it again at the second attempt and O’Shea is on hand to tap it over the line - a long way back for the Blades from here

and no changes for the Blades at the break

and it was pretty turgid fare for most of it from United, although they really should be level after McGoldrick’s remarkable miss when one-on-one - they’ve created little else and have looked uneasy every time Albion had a corner or throw-in to launch into the box. Much improvement needed in the second half...

and Fleck goes over to take it on the Blades left, it comes to nothing as we go into one minute of added time

Another corner causes chaos

in the United box as Bartley gets a head on it, Verrips came and got nowhere near it - he’s appealing for a foul but it was never one and it’s a good chance for 2-0 that goes begging

on his left foot from long range after J Robinson headed C Robinson’s cross into his path, he hits it well and probably too well as it sails over Verrips’ crossbar

as Mowatt stays down after colliding with Norwood, he’s back on his feet and looks like he’ll be fine to continue

What a chance to level

as Sharp plays in McGoldrick in acres of space just moments after the opening goal, he looks to curl it past the onrushing Johnstone but puts it a fair way wide of the post, punching the turf in frustration
