Arsenal 'plot €19 million raid' for key Sheffield United target ahead of summer transfer window

According to Greek media reports, Arsenal are the latest side to take an interest in Olympiakos midfielder Mady Camara - a player who Sheffield United reportedly saw a bid turned down for in January.

The technically-gifted midfielder impressed over the course of his side's two-leg Europa League triumph over the Gunners, and Arsenal boss Mikael Arteta is said to have instructed the club to make a move for the player at the nearest opportunity.

With the player's contract not set to expire until 2023, and his profile continuing to rise, it appears that the Blades could have some serious competition on their hands if they look to reignite their interest in the Guinea international this summer.

The report suggests that, in light of the increased interest in their star midfielder, Olympiakos will up their asking price, and could demand a fee in the region of €19m.

With the distinct possibility of securing Champions League qualification this season via a top five finish, the Blades are likely to attract of host of quality new signings in the summer.

United broke their transfer record when they splashed out £22 million on Sander Berge in January, and the club's expert recruitment team will look to secure similar coups to strengthen the Blades further ahead of the 2020/2021 campaign.
