Lowe, who established himself as a key part of United’s set-up since returning from Nottingham Forest in the summer, was withdrawn early in the game, to be replaced by Chris Basham.

Moments earlier he had sprinted back to try and stop Oscar Estupinan dragging Hull on level terms, after Oli McBurnie's earlier equaliser.

Wes Foderingham denied the in-form striker with a superb double stop but Lowe stayed down for treatment and eventually made way.

He will be assessed by United’s medical staff, while boss Paul Heckingbottom will provide an update on his injury after the game.
