All you need to know about Sheffield United's visit to Crystal Palace

The Teams: Palace - Guaita, Mitchell, Kouyate, Tomkins, Clyne, Townsend, Milivojevic, Schlupp, McArthur, Benteke, Zaha. United - Ramsdale, Basham, Egan, Robinson, Baldock, Stevens, Ampadu, Fleck, McGoldrick, Brewster, Burke.

The Referee: Stuart Attwell, who averages 4.6 cautions per game so far this term, took charge of United’s game against Leicester City at the beginning of last month when Max Lowe was among three players cautioned. Andre Marriner is the VAR official.

The Results: Despite their miserable sequence of results since the beginning of the season, all but three of the defeats United have suffered have been by a single goal. Two of those came away from home, at Chelsea and Southampton. Palace have not won in five, losing three of those fixtures and conceding 13 goals in the process. However, United average only one every other game in the competition since September.

The Last Time Out: Palace’s goalkeeper Vincente Guaita carried the ball into his own net when the two teams faced each other at Selhurst Park in February, with his error from an Oliver Norwood corner presenting the visitors with all three points. The 1-0 victory lifted United to fifth in the table, but they eventually finished ninth.

The History Lesson: This will be the 56th meeting between these two clubs. United, who will be searching for their third straight win over Palace, have triumphed on 22 occasions compared to the Londoners’ total of 21. The last of the 12 draws United and Palace have played out came in May 2009 - a result which saw United enter the Championship play-offs rather than stand a chance of winning automatic promotion.
