Aaron Ramsdale: Sheffield United key man wanted by Tottenham and Wolves - reports
Sheffield United could be going into a summer of speculation surrounding one of their key players after reports suggested two Premier League sides are hovering around.
Goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale is reportedly the subject of interest from Tottenham and Wolves, with both preparing themselves to lose their current stoppers.
Spurs’ Hugo Lloris and Wolves’ Riu Patricio are all in the final year of their respective contracts and could well be moving on before then.
Ramsdale, who turned around a difficult start to life back at Bramall Lane to become one of the Blades’ best players last season, has been earmarked by both clubs as a potential replacement, according to the Daily Mail.
The 23-year-old made a big money return to United from Bournemouth after suffering relegation with the Cherries and then went down with United.
However, as reported by The Star last month, Ramsdale has told the club’s board that he had no intention of pushing for a move away from S2, and is prepared to stay and fight to get United back into the top flight.
Burnley were also thought to be keeping an eye on the keeper with Nick Pope also expected to be the subject of interest from more established Premier League clubs this summer.
Ramsdale’s form in the second half of the season saw him called into the England squad for their warm-up games ahead of this weekend’s Euro 2020 opener but didn’t make the final cut with Gareth Southgate electing to go with Jordan Pickford, Sam Johnstone and former Blade Dean Henderson.
