Sheffield United set an unwanted Premier League record this afternoon as their sorry season continued with a 3-1 home defeat to Nottingham Forest. It was a familiar story for the Blades, who could have easily been four or five goals ahead at the break but spurned a host of golden chances after Ben Brereton Diaz had put them ahead from the spot against his former side.
Forest levelled through Callum Hudson-Odoi’s finish, with the former Chelsea man sealing victory for his side after skipper Ryan Yates had volleyed Forest ahead in the second half. Forest’s third was the 100th goal United have conceded in the league this season - the first time that figure has been reached in a 38-game Premier League season.
To compound United’s frustration, defender Anel Ahmedhodzic was sent off deep in injury time for a second yellow card. Here’s how we rated United’s players on another afternoon to forget at Bramall Lane ...

![The United skipper was back in the side against his former club but had a slight mix-up with Arblaster moments before Hudson-Odoi's good curling finish made it 1-1 for Forest. But it was his only real misstep for most of the game in a largely composed display, keeping his head when under pressure on the ball - until one error almost proved costly when he was dispossessed in a dangerous area but Hamer was on hand to bail him out](https://www.thestar.co.uk/jpim-static/image/2024/05/04/15/10/GettyImages-2151428782.jpg.jpg?crop=3:2&width=800)

![Without the armband after Robinson's return but it was another mature, leader-like display from the young man in midfield who has set his own standards since coming into the United side. He didn't seem as involved as he has in other games in recent weeks but did what he had to do on the ball well, shifting his weight beautifully and also doing a great defensive job for his side against the lively Morgan Gibbs-White. Kept going until the final whistle with a good late run but his pass was too hard for Brereton Diaz and the frustration on the youngster's face was evident](https://www.thestar.co.uk/jpim-static/image/2024/05/01/16/25/GettyImages-2150049558.jpg.jpg?crop=3:2&width=800)

![Boss Wilder kept faith with the youngster after Newcastle but it wasn't a particularly convincing display. There were some decent bits on the ball but he seemed to jump out of a few 50/50 challenges and showed his inexperience a little when he spotted Hamer tearing free but played a ball that was overhit and waist-high, rather than into his teammate's path. A poor pass put Robinson under pressure and led to a Forest chance on the breakaway after the skipper was robbed, before he made way for James McAtee with just over 20 minutes of normal time to go](https://www.thestar.co.uk/webimg/b25lY21zOjU3NDA4ZDZlLTc4OWQtNDBjNC1hYmNmLTE0ZDg5NWViMjk3Yjo4OTkyYmU3NS0zMGU0LTRkMDctOTMxZS0xMDQ0YWExN2U4NTg=.jpg?crop=3:2&width=800)
