Sheffield FC continued their excellent home run with a fifth straight win beating Shepshed Dynamo 3-2 in the FA Cup first qualifying round at Dronfield.

Club’s goals came from a Jamie Hadfield close-range header , Matt Rooney and Joel Purkiss with a superb finish.

Danny Hind and Adam Vasey hit the SHepshed goals. pounced on a rebound but Club held on to go into today’s second qualifying round draw.

There was little cup cheer for the regions other teams. Frickley Athletic bowed out 2-1 at Farsley AFC. They trailed 2--0 after Danny South diverted a free-kick into his own net and Robbie O’Brien lobbed goalkeeper Ben Simpson. Frickley pulled one back in time added as Grant Allott slotted home Joel Barnett’s pull-back from six yards.

Matlock Town crashed out 2-1 at home against Ilkeston FC despite Corey Gregory’s volley giving the Gladiators a 10th minute lead. Former Matlock loanee Kane Richard equalised and Rob Duffy prodded home a cross from close range in the final minute.

NCEL side Staveley MW saw their cup dreams ended with a 3-0 defeat at Evo-Stik League One side Mickleover Sports.

Buxton edged through 3-2 against Ramsbottom United at the Silverlands. They led 3-0 through Liam Hardy, Alastair Taylor and Shaun Tuton goals had put them 3-0 up but just held on as the visitors pulled two goals back.

Stocksbridge Park Steels suffered a 2-0 defeat away at Goole AFC in a rearranged league game. Steels had the better of the first half chances with Lee Garside inches away with a free-kick while Liam Schofield’s superb 25-yard curler seven minutes from the interval striking the post and rolled across the line before being cleared.

Goole went in front on 53 minutes through former Sheffield FC player Andy Gascoigne and wrapped up the points with the second nine minutes from time as Muhammed Sabo stabbed home from a long throw.
