SHEFFIELD FC made the trip to Evo-Stik League One South leaders Coalville Town last night but lost beaten 3-1 as the home side stretched the lead at the top to 14-points

Coalville broke the deadlock on 10 minutes when Stuart’s speculative 30-yard effort looped over Flynn.

Sheffield responded with Jack Muldoon forcing a good save from Chris Gibson in the home goal before Lee Cooksey saw his effort smothered by the keeper after Muldoon had nodded down.

But the hosts went 2-0 ahead on the half hour mark with Stuart the scorer again with a quality finish from distance. Five minutes later Sheffield were back in the game. Steve Woolley’s cross was spilled by the keeper leaving Cooksey to tap home.

Seven Minutes after the interval Warren Burrell cleared off the line to prevent Ryan Robbins putting the side further in front. Then Lewis Dodd flashed a shot just wide of the post, while at the other end Burrell’s scissor kick at a corner wasn’t too far away from levelling the scores.

But Coalville wrapped up the points with the third 15 minutes from time, Stuart completing his hat-trick.
